Here is a piece I have been working on. I have done a lot of Marvelous Designer garments lately and wanted to try them on Metahuman characters I created in UE5.0.
Miss Ming who lives inside Unreal has been a model for several of my garments, and she offered to step into the level I put together for this piece.
The garment was quite straightforward pattern I created in MD and the details as usual were done in ZBrush. (The side seamline should be straight I know, and this haunts my dreams, should have noticed that earlier).
Ming was a bit annoyed because the drink she was holding was not real champagne but a tap water that got it's color in post. She was grabbing brandy soon after Movie Render Queue finished for a fix.
I also created some custom groom for her as the default metahuman grooms are not that good and she was so unhappy with her hair
always. I am not big fan of using XGen due to the bugs but that's what I had in hand so I went on doing the guides there and export them to UE via Alembic. Really seriously using this software is as pleasant as pushing bamboo splinters under my fingernails. The grooms are very fascinating and getting physics working is well.. a breeze. Except.. X-Gen. The end hair is not my fionest hour but looks better than I thought in engine, because UE5 can make bad groom look still pretty good.
The flowers and props were bits and pieces I have gathered over the years and I used MRQ to render the shot with supersampling.
I hope you enjoy this piece.
