Ancient volcano scene in Unreal Engine 5

Here is a shot of a ancient volcano scene I have been working on Unreal Engine 5.

The environment is a massive 15km volcanic island. A lot of work went into creating our landscape material template that my company uses. This is created using material layer blending system and is designed to run real-time on LED volumes.

I was able to create several looping VDB volume assets in Houdini and bring them in for the volcanic gas effects. It is possible to get these to run in sync with sequencer as well for precise control.

The Render Graph is my favorite of any render pipeline I have ever seen. It is very easy to achieve extremely granular control to set dress pieces to split key assets for post processing.
